She was my paternal great-grandmother. She married Leonard Haag, Sr. when she was 16, and he was 29.

Leonard had been a farm hand for the Appel family since Lizzie was 13. Leonard had been married before, and his new wife died within the same year they were married. After his first wife died, he became the Appel's farm hand, and boarded with the family somewhere on their property.

Lizzie and Leonard had 12 children together, one of whom was my grandfather Leonard Haag, Jr.

I don't know too much about this grandmother, and am still trying to find out more about her.

My father remembered her, and we were going to sit down and talk about the relatives who were gone before I was born. Unfortunately, my father passed away suddenly, and I never got that chance.

Rest well grandmother Haag.
