Bushrod Corbin Washington, II, was the son of Thomas Blackburn Washington by his wife Rebecca Janet Cunningham.
He was born May 14, 1839 at "Claymont" Charles Town, Jefferson County, Virginia, now West Virginia.
He married 1st to Catharine Thomas Blackburn, daughter of Richard Scott Blackburn by his wife Sarah Ann Eleanor Thomas, on July 21, 1864 in "Weehaw" Clarke County, Virginia. She died September 15, 1876 at "Braddock" Charles Town, Jefferson County, West Virginia, 8 children born to them.
He married 2nd to Emma Edwards Willis November 14, 1878 in Charles Town, Jefferson County, West Virginia; she was the daughter of Thomas Hite Willis and Elizabeth Ferguson (Ryland) Willis: 3 children were born to this union.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Company B, 12th Virginia Cavalry, Dearing's Brigade, Rosser's Division, Cavalry Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence: Jefferson County, WVA.; 22 years old; 5'8 1/2"; light complexion; light hair; gray eyes.
Enlisted for 12 months' service on 4/18/1861 at Charlestown, WVA, he traveled 11 miles to Harpers Ferry, WVA, where on 5/11/1861, he was mustered into Company G "Botts Greys", 2nd Virginia Infantry, as a Private.
Present on all Rolls from enlistment until POW 3/23/1862 in Battle of Kernstown, VA; confined 3/25/1862 in Fort Delaware, DE; exchanged 8/5/1862 at Aikens' Landing, VA.
On 8/23/1862 he was transferred into Company B, 12th Virginia Cavalry.
Commissioned 12/1/1862 as Brevet 2nd Lieutenant.
Promoted 11/27/1863 to 2nd Lieutenant.
Present on all Rolls from transfer through end of war.
Paroled 5/4/1865 at Winchester, VA.

The 12th Virginia Cavalry Regiment [also called 10th Regiment] was organized at Conrad's Store, Virginia, in June, 1862, with companies from the 7th Regiment Virginia Cavalry.
