"Harriet Eliza Crain was born April 20, 1847. She married William H. Kirk, of Scotch birth, but a veteran of our Civil War. Their children were: James Benjamin, Harriet, William H., Mary, Effie, Letha and Viva. They made their home for many years at Almira, Washington [sic], where she still lives, her husband having died Feb. 5, 1918."

HARRIET E. KIRK TAKEN BY DEATH

Funeral rites for Mrs. Harriet E. Kirk, who died Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mary E. Burke, N3917 Lincoln, will be at 1 pm Friday in the Methodist church at Almira. Burial will be at Almira, with the Phillips Undertaking parlor of Davenport in charge. Mrs. Kirk who was 88, is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. Harriet E. McInnis and Mrs. Letha Goodwin of Spokane, and Mrs. Viva Hansell of LaGrande, Ore.; two sons, J. B. of the Dalles, Ore.; and W. H. of Almira; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
