Fredrick Wayne Smithson, 73, of Yucaipa died of cancer at home on Monday.
Smithson, a life resident of San Bernardino, was an engineer for Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of Yucaipa Elks 2389, Native Sons 110 and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, a daughter, Marily Hoskins of San Bernardino, and seven grandchildren.
There will be no services. Arrangements will be handled by the Neptune Society.
