Bert Adams, 19, Injured Last Friday, Succumbs To Fractured Skull; Coroner Plans Inquiry

Bert Adams, 19, who was injured Friday, July 21, when he fell from a milk truck, died at 7:39 o'clock last night at Mercy hospital.

Adams, a resident of 1018 First avenue, was admitted to the institution following injuries suffered when he was knocked off the running board of a Keith Milk truck by a protuding tree limb. For several hours after entering Mercy, Adams failed to regain consciousness. His death resulted from a fractured skull and numerous lacerations about the head and body. He was a voluntary helper on the truck, being a friend of the driver's. Immediately after the accident occurred, Keith's took the youth to the institution where his condition remained critical until death. Coroner Chester C. Rothrock was notified of the death last night and will open his investigation today.

Surviving are the parents, three brothers: James, Francis and Harold, and two sisters: Angeline and Elizabeth. Adams was a member of the Young Men's Christian association, spending much time assisting those in charge. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian church and Mrs. Kauffman's Sunday school class. Funeral announcements will be made later.
