Manchester--Harriet E. Blanche, 92, of Prescott Road, Manchester, died August 6, 2001 at Country Manor Nursing Home, Coopers Mills, where she had been a patient since June.
She was born in East Livermore, Feb. 27,1909, the daughter of Russell Knowles and Myra (Camwell) Knowles.
Mrs. Blanche attended Livermore Falls High School. Although she was a homemaker in her own home for most of her life, she had been employed at Robinson's Health Care Facility, Gardiner.
Mrs. Blanche was a member of North Manchester Meeting House Church, a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, Rebekahs, of Mount Vernon, and Starling Grange, of Fayette.
She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Thopmson; a daughter, Aldeah Rouillard; her brothers, Hermon and Heron Knowles; and a sister, Ruby Lehto.
Surviving are her husband, Paul O. Blanche of Manchester, whom she married Dec. 5, 1954; a sister, Helen Hopkins, of Manchester, eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 8 at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Manchester Forks Cemetery.
