Alva Paul Ash was one of six children born to Robert Milton Ash and Lena Carver Ash.

The other children were: Infant Daughter, Guy Albert, Vernon Luther, Gordon and Laura Ash.

He married Annie Lou Workman September 16, 1924 in Decatur, Wise County, Texas.

ASH SERVICES HELD SUNDAY

Alva Paul Ash, 73, of Decatur died Friday in the Decatur Hospital after a short illness.

Ash, born July 27, 1899 in Wise County, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Ash. He married Sept. 16, 1924 in Decatur and his wife died Aug. 18, 1970. He worked 25 years for General Dynamics in Fort Worth.

Services were held Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur, where he was a member. The Rev. Arthur Renfro officiated and burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Laura Penry of Fort Worth; two brothers, Vernon L. Ash of Brenham and Gordon G. Ash of Lindale, and several nieces.

Pallbearers were Charles Wilhite, Thad Belew, W.A. Hughes, Gene Brummell, Tom Terrell and Bill Cates.
