Doris Marie White, 92, of Edmond, OK, passed away on November 4, 2009 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on September 28, 1917 in Hazleton, PA to Oscar and Levina Heiser and raised in Hazleton during a time when horse drawn wagons still clip clopped down the street on chilly mornings delivering bulk coal to the basement of her parents home for their coal fired kitchen stoves and the radiators that warmed the small neighborhood grocery and deli her father operated in front of the house. She graduated Hazleton High School in 1935 having spent three years as a cheerleader and left her childhood home for Washington, D.C. to work for the U.S. Government during World War II. It was there she met and fell in love with William Augusta White, Jr., a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, who was back in the States on leave while serving in the European Theatre. They were married on June 22, 1946 in Washington, D.C. and promptly moved back to Bill's hometown of Hugo, Oklahoma to build their lives together as owners of the Little Dixie Feed and Seed Company. In Hugo, they had two sons, William A. (Chip) White III and John Scott White. Doris graduated from Paris Junior College, a proud accomplishment in her 40s and moved with her family in 1967 to Stillwater, OK becoming a well known Realtor and civic leader in the area. She was member of the First United Methodist Church, attending regularly and an active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) for over 30 years.

Preceded in death by her parents; brother Louis Heiser; sister-in-law Mary Bowden; and, her one true love, husband Bill.

Survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law Chip and Dianne White and John and Kim White; three granddaughters Taylor, Tanner and Trace White; and a step-granddaughter Rhonda Kelly; two sisters Thelma Rhode and Evelyn Hildebrandt; brother Oscar Heiser, Jr.; sister-in-law Margaret Heiser; brother and sister-in- law Walter and Mary White; brother-in-law Sidney Bowden.
