Madison - Mrs. Edythe Mae Duerst, age 70, of 2634 East Johnson Street, died on Thursday, October 11, 1979, at a local hospital. She was born July 23, 1909, in Madison, Wisconsin and was a clerk for the Stevens Supermarket for 16 years. Mrs. Duerst was the former Edythe Showers and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, Leon; a son, Raymond of 2 South Lakewood Garden Lane; a daughter, Mrs.Marvin (Donna) Storm of 1008 Douglas Trail; four granddaughters; three brothers, Edward and Ervin Showers, both of Madison and Raymond Showers of Oregon, Wisconsin; and three sisters, Mrs. Leonard Dreger, Mrs. Dorothy Brown and Mrs. Florence Winterbotham, all of Madison. She was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Showers. Funeral services will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church, 312 Wisconsin Avenue, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 15 with Dr. Robert Borgwardt officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 3-8 on Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr.
