Wallace Basore Dead at 69
Wallace Wayne Basore died Friday, Feb. 13 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 69.
Born December 10, 1911, he was the son of William Basore and Anna Milligan. His birthplace was Parson, Kansas.
He was a roofer and farm hand by occupation and was employed by Locke Brothers and Winterset Roofing.
He came to the Winterset area about 30 years ago. In 1953 he married Audrey Kilmer at Winterset.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ambrose Denayer; and a sister, Mary Basore.
Survivors include his wife; three brothers, John and Donald Basore and Virgil Denayer; and two sisters, Carolyn Hensley and Della Yass.
Services were held Monday Feb. 16 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Phill Hall officiating. Burial was at Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
