He was born Dec. 18, 1915, on a farm northwest of Waynoka to Henry Raymond and Edna Mingus Bixler and died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
He attended West Liberty and Heinle rural grade school and graduated from Waynoka High School.
He married Marvel Louise Parker Aug. 9, 1939, in Alva. They later purchased a farm, living there for 21 years.
He served on the Rose Valley school board. He was a member of Waynoka Coop Elevator Association for 36 years, where he served as secretary of the board.
He was an agent for Farm Bureau Insurance Co. for 28 years. He was treasurer of Memorial Hill Cemetery Association. He was a member of Waynoka First Baptist Church, serving as teacher and deacon since 1959.
Surviving are his wife, Marvel; one daughter, Nancy Bixler of San Antonio; one son, Lee of Roanoke, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
