Funeral rites for Virgil E. Walden, 54, will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Cave Springs Baptist Church. Walden, a lifelong resident of Decatur, died at the Thayer General Hospital in Nashville Wednesday morning.
The rites will be conducted by Rev. G.C. Morris and Rev. Frank Smith. Burial will be in Roselawn cemetery, Mutual Service directing.
The funeral cortege will leave from Walden's Decatur 2 residence shortly before the service time.
Immediate survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sue Walden and mother, Mrs. Julia Widner.
A farmer and carpenter by occupation, Walden was also a veteran of World War I.
Pallbearers will include, George, Ed Robert, John Collier, H.P. Garrett and E.L. Fowler.
