Eliphalet was the son of Roger Jones(1756-1808)and his second wife,Asenath Denison Jones(1767-1829).

In 1817 Eliphalet married Sallie Hull(1794-1822),daughter of Daniel Hull,Jr(FAG#22231049) and Phebe Green Hull (FAG#2221380).

Eliphalet and Sallie's marriage produced 2 sons:
1. Ackland Hartley Jones(b1819) m Sarah Taber
2. Daniel Green Jones(1822-1904) m Maria M. Shearer

In 1824 Eliphalet married Mary Gray.They had 6 children:
3. Henry b.1825
4. Sarah b.1827
5. James Denison b.1829
6. Albert b.1834
7. Maria Adelia b.1835
8. William Denison b.1837

Eliphalet and Mary and the 3 oldest children went to E. Aurora on the first canal boat to carry passengers in 1826.
