Calvin Boyd Bessey, 84, Bloomington, formerly of Dwight and Ottawa, died Monday (Nov. 2, 2009) at HCR Manor Care, Normal.

He was born April 7, 1925, in Merrill, Wisconsin to Ralph H. and Anna Carlson Bessey. He married Ruth E. Andersen on Dec. 1, 1946 in Dwight, Il. She preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2008.

He is survived by one daughter, Marcia (Ron) Fetzer, Bloomington; one son, Mark (Lea) Bessey, Marietta, Ga.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one brother, Don (Marge) Bessey, Sarasota, Florida.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
