Funeral for Merline "Big Momma" Russell, 81, of Paradise will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at the First Baptist Church of Paradise. The Rev. Matt Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery. Visitation was to be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Russell died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, in Bridgeport.
Born Sept. 22, 1924, in Idabel, Okla., she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Paradise. She married Clarence Russell on Aug. 3, 1943, in Idabel.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Beddingfield.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Linda Haggard and husband, John of Paradise and Gail Haggard and husband, Jack of Fontana, Calif.; five grandchildren, Rex, Darla, Mack, Sharon and Russell; and eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Haggard, Rex Haggard, Mack Haggard, Albert Thorton, Jimmey Pewitt and Larry Motsenbocker.
