Countain's Father, 66, Drowns Self in Pond
McHenry - The body of Owen (Tobe) McConnell, 66, retired miner, was recovered from a pond on his farm here about 9 a.m. Saturday. His death was termed suicide by Coroner Hugh E. Dukes, due to despondency over ill health.
He was a native of Simmons, and a member of the Independent Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eula Rowe McConnell; five daughters, Mrs. Charles DeHart, McHenry, Mrs. John Davern, Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Cecil Kilburn, Corning, N.Y., Mrs. Olus Lacefield, Pekin, Illinois, Mrs. Edward Klein, Cincinnati; four sons, Vernon, Central City, William, Beaver Dam, Gobel, Bowling Green, Ernest, McHenry; four brothers, Charles and Otis, McHenry, Walter, Hartford, and Justice, Detroit.
