Pleasant was the son of Jonathan Hardegree and Patsey Cameron. He married Betsy Grimes 2 May 1816 in Clarke Co., GA. The area where they lived in Clarke Co. is now in Oconee Co. He was born circa 1798, likely in GA, and died circa 1830-31. There is no grave marker for him but he is believed to be buried near Betsy. There is a small stone marker two spots from Betsy's that N. Edwin Bowden suspects to be Pleasant's.
