1911 - 1975
Durward B. Gambill, 63, of 3303 Carter Ave., died at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Kings Daughters Hospital following a short illness.
Mr. Gambill was born June 12, 1911, at Paintsville, a son of the late Elbert L. and Vera Salyers Gambill. He was a member of Apostolic Deliverance Church of Jesus Christ. Mr. Gambill was a retired carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Local 101 of Baltimore, Md.
Surviving are his wife Corrine Littleton Gambill; four sons, James Gambill of Kitts Hill, O., Larry Gambill of Flatwoods. Randy Gambill at home and Terry McCauley at home; five daughters, Mrs. Betty Young of Mt. Gilead, O., Mrs. Phyliss Russell of Ashland, Mrs. Jean Sheets of Huntington, Mrs. Carol James of Crestline, O., and Mrs. Faye Huddleston of Rock Coal, W.Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Keller of Ashland, Mrs. Laura Bradley of Gary, Ind.; a brother, Paul D. Gambill of New Orleans, La.; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Lazear Funeral Home by Bishop Gleo Elkins. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home where friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Members of the Blazer R.O.T.C. will serve as pallbearers, who are, Kenny Blair, Tony Hale, Ronnie Faulkner, Rick Faulkner, Miles Duncil and Rick Clair.
