DIED:
ANDERSON - At the Warm Springs, a few miles form Boise City, Ada County, I. T., Friday evening, Oct. 17, 1879, Mrs. Eliza S. Anderson, wife of Hon. V. S. Anderson, aged 27 years and 14 days.

Mrs. Anderson, whose maiden name was Eliza S. Rice was born in St. Louis, Missouri, Oct. 4th, 1852, where she rsided until the summer of 1878, when she and her sister came to Rocky Bar, in Alturas county.

On the 29th of August, 1878, deceased was married at Rocky Bar to Hon. V. S. Anderson of that place and resided there until a little more than a year ago when her declining health caused her to come to this section with the hope that the change might benefit her.

Mrs. Anderson was a lady of rare accomplishments and of a truly angelic disposition; one who made her husband's home a real paradise and who instantly won the love and kindly interest of all with whom she became acquainted. She leaves here in Idaho an afflicted husband whose great loss of a loving companion can never be consoled, and a devoted and affectionate sister (Mrs. T. W. Rollins) whose grief no words can express and no length of time assuage.

These sorrowing relatives who are here and those in her old home is St. Louis have the sincere sympathy of all who knew here in this their sad hour of affliction and loss.

The funeral took place on Sunday last from St. Michael's Church in this city; Bishop Tuttle and Rev. W. Ballard officiating.

After the services in the church, the remains were borne to the Masonic [Pioneer] cemetery and followed by a large concourse of citizens in carriages. The pall bearers on this mournful occasion were J. S. Gray, Esq.; J. Brumback, Esq.; Mr. A. L. Richardson, F. E. Ensign, Esa, Capt. Ralph Bledsoe and Mr. Frank P. Cavanah.

The church during the services was filled to its utmost capacity, and the attendance in the procession and at the grave was among the largest ever witnessed here.

Gravesite Details

Sexton's records only have her husband's initials of "V S" for first name and have 1874 instead of 1879 as the year of death, but the month and day are exactly correct. They do list her as a 27 year old woman.
