Lorraine Breer, 82, formerly of Baxter, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Villa Del Sol in Marshalltown.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Rollin Watters officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Baxter. Boyd Davis Funeral Home in Baxter is handling arrangements.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in her name to Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ.
The daughter of Harry and Martha (Goeke) Bach, she was born May 2, 1921, in Baxter. She was raised and educated in the Baxter area where she attended the Malaka No. 4 Country School and later graduated from Baxter High School in 1939. On Sept. 20, 1941, she married Calvin Breer in Unionville, Mo. They farmed east of Baxter for a short time before moving to Baxter. She was employed at the Baxter Locker Plant and the Baxter School system where she was a part of the Baxter Public School Lunch Program for more than 26 years. She was a member of the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lois and Charles Jontz and Shirley Bach-Atwood, all of Baxter; a sister-in-law, Opal Breer of Des Moines; a brother-in-law, Pete Weuve of Nevada; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
