Obituary dated Thursday, August 9, 2007 BOWIE - Connie Bentley Jackson, 68, passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007 in Sunset, Texas. Funeral Services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Carter Lake Road Church of Christ with Bill Clayton, Minister of the Gospel officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. til' noon at the White Family Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to The Children's Home of Lubbock, P.O. Box 2824, Lubbock, Texas, 79408 or The Susan G Komen for the Cure; 5005 LBJ Fwy, Ste. 250, Dallas, Texas 75244. Connie was born July 9, 1939 in Shawnee, Okla., to Howell and Clara Bell (Stewart) Reynolds. She graduated from Purcell High School in 1957 in Purcell, Okla., where she enjoyed being a member of the band as a Drum Majorette. She married Gary Bentley in June of 1959 in Gainesville and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1974. She met and married Mike Jackson on Jan. 3, 1976 in Gainesville and moved to the Jackson Family Ranch East of Sunset Texas. She enjoyed Geneology and attended the Sunset Church of Christ. She retired from the City of Bowie after fifteen years of service. She volunteered with the Bowie Women's Auxillary of Bowie Memorial Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents and late husband, Gary Bentley. She is survived by her husband, Mike Jackson of Sunset; three sons, David Bentley and wife, Angie of Arlington, Brian Bentley and wife, Lancine of Denton, and Reece Jackson of Wichita Falls; two grandchildren, Ryan Collier and Addison Bentley; one brother, James Foster and wife, Janelle of Richardson; and two nieces, Shannon Casada and husband, Michael and family of Rowlett, and Jamee Arrington and son of Allen.. © 2009 Scripps Newspaper Group—Online Edit Delete
