Ronald G. Fowler

Ronald George Fowler, 36, of 5401 Wedgewood Dr., Charlotte, a native of Granite Falls, died Thursday at North Wilkesboro Hospital after suffering a heart attack.
Mr. Fowler was executive vice president of Piedmont Bank and Trust.
Mackie-High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Fowler Rites

The funeral for Ronald George Fowler, 36, of 5401 Wedgewood Dr., Charlotte, a native of Granite Falls, who died Thursday, will be Sunday, 4 p.m. at Granite Falls First United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Joe Parker will oficiate and burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery.
The body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Steve Estes, Dennis Haigler, Marty Bumgarner, Garry Trull, Phil Seaton, Jackie McEntire.
The family will be at Mackie-High Funeral Home from 7 until 9 tonight.
Born March 29, 1947 in Caldwell County, Mr. Fowler was a son of Della Crow Fowler Kirby of Granite Falls, and the late George Wade Fowler, who died in 1959.
A graduate of Granite Falls High School, Mr. Fowler also graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College, magna cum laude.
Mr. Fowler was executive vice president of Piedmont Bank and Trust since 1982, and was formerly employed as a manager with Arthur Anderson & Co., and controller of Cummins Carolinas, Inc.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Fowler was a member of First United Methodist Church, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, N.C. Association of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Internal Auditors, United Cerebral Palsy, and an accounting teacher at Central Piedmont Community College.
In addition to the mother, survivors include the wife, Nancy Keller Fowler of the home; two brothers, James Fowler of Charlotte, Tommy Fowler of Granite Falls; and a sister, Mrs. John (Virginia) Looper of Granite Falls.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Wade Fowler.
