Wright was the son of James Knapp and Johanna Slaughter. On 16 OCT 1879 in Wayne Co., Iowa he married Sylvia Lucretia Tyrrell.
Sylvia Tyrrell and Wright Knapp had at least four daughters, Ethel Austa Knapp (Stephens), Bessie Mabelle Knapp (Stoner), Sylvia Vivian Knapp (Ely), and Bertha JoAnn Knapp (Loring).
They moved to Cedar Co., Missouri where he was a farmer and a Methodist.
His death certificate states he died of Apoplexy-cerebral hemmorage.
