OBITUARY.
Mary Holland was born in the town of Fairburn, Harrison county, Ga., Oct. 15, 1842, was married to Francis M. Shaw at Tuscogee, Ala., in August, 1865; died in Chandler, September 2, 1904, aged 61 years, 10 months and 17 days.
She was the mother of eight children, three girls and five boys, of whom two girls and two boys are dead. She was converted and entered the Baptist church when 15 years old. Shortly after her marriage she became connected with the Christian church and remained a faithful, earnest Christian for 37 years or until her death.
Mrs. Shaw was one of our earliest settlers and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. She was a kind, motherly and thoroughly good woman and the sorrow at her death is universal.
The last rites were conducted by Rev. Owens at the Christian church Saturday afternoon, interment being in Oak Park cemetery.
