CANTRELL, FLORA WASHAM BOWLING – 79, of the New River Community, passed away Wednesday evening, December 14, 1988, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, following a linger illness. Born in the Norma Community on July 25, 1909, she was the daughter of the late JONATHAN WASHAM and the late IDA NEWPORT WASHAM. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, HARRISON BOWLING; her second husband, JAMES CANTRELL; one infant daughter, MARY HELEN BOWLING; one sister, CORA WASHAM TAYLOR; and two brothers: FLOYD and NOBLE WASHAM. She was a member of the Low Gap Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters: JO ANN CHITWOOD of Rt. 2 , Oneida; and JOYCE E. KEETON of Helenwood; three sons: HARRISON BOWLING, Jr. of Smithville, Tn.; WILLIAM A. BOWLING of Oneida; and BEN BAILEY BOWLING of Oneida; nine grandchildren; MARCIA, LEE ANN, SHERRI, ROGETTA, PAM, DEBBIE, RICKY, HARRIS, and MILTON; and nine great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and many other relatives survive also. Funeral services were conducted from the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 17 with the Rev. CARL JEFFERS and the Rev. JOHN BOLIN officiating. The Goad Family, Bro. SCOTT ANDREWS, and Bro. EDSON JEFFERS sang. Burial followed in the Reed Cemetery in the New River Community. Pallbearers were MILTON B. BOWLING, TERRY WAYNE CANTRELL, SHERWIN CHITWOOD, TROY CLAIBORNE, HARRIS L. KEETON, RICKY KEETON, and TROY D. POSEY.
