Robert F. Bell, 87, of Paris, passed away at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 30, 1922, in Douglas County, Il. to the late James W. and Lena Roderick Bell. He married Lina L. Montgomery Brewer on Nov. 29, 1974, in Paris, Il. She preceded him in death Oct. 28, 2008.
Survivors include two sons, David Allen (Linda Stennett) Brewer of Decatur and William James (Laurie) Brewer of Ridge Farm; two daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Wilson of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Kathryn Brewer of Ottawa, Il.; a brother, Paul Bell of Georgetown; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harland Bell, and a sister, Geraldine Ewing.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the World War II European Theater and participated in the Normandy invasion.
