Officers from both Placer and Nevada county are still searching for the body of Evelyn Armes, 16, who drowned last Sunday in Lake Combie. The girl, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Armes of Newcastle, met death by drowning when a boat in which she was riding, overturned in the lake.

Was drowned on April 18th last, while canoeing when the boat capsized.
Besides her parents, deceased is survived by two half brothers and sisters: Manuel R. Serpa of Oakland, Armand Serpa of Newcastle, Mrs. Alice Holley of Newcastle, and Miss Thelma Serpa, also of Newcastle.
Funeral services will be held next Monday, May 17, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, under the direction of Hislop's Little Chapel of the Hills. Rosary will be held at 8:00 P.M. tomarrow, Sunday, at Hislop's Chapel. Interment will be in the Auburn District Cemetery.
