W. Arthur Barr, owner and manager of a furniture and undertaking business in Lewistown, is one of the successful men of the community where he has been established in his work since 1916. He is the son of Henry A. Barr, a native of Clearfield County, born May 7, 1855, and died in Lewistown in 1917. His mother is Louisa J. (Camp) Barr. W. Arthur Barr was born at Siglerville, Mifflin County, February 13, 1885, and received his education in the Reedsville Public Schools and then entered Eckels College
of Embalming and Sanitary Science at Philadelphia. Upon completing his course, Mr. Barr returned to Reedsville, to enter into the furniture and undertaking business which had been founded by his father, as a partner. Mr. Barr and his father continued in business at Reedsville until 1916, when they removed their interests to Lewistown. Upon the death of the senior Mr. Barr, in 1917, his son, the subject of this review, assumed entire management of the business.
