Upon completing his course, Mr. Barr returned to Reedsville, to enter into the furniture and undertaking business which had been founded by his father, as a partner. Mr. Barr and his father continued in business at Reedsville until 1916, when they removed their interests to Lewistown. Upon the death of the senior Mr. Barr, in 1917, his son, the subject of this review, assumed entire management of the business. As a mortician, Mr. Barr is an acknowledged leader in this section of the Juniata Valley. Finely equipped rooms are
maintained to make them models of their kind. Mr. Barr married, and their children are: Graffius A., a student at Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa.; William Kohler, a student at the University of Virginia; John Henry Barr, attending high school; and Sarah Louise Barr. Mr. Barr is a member of
the Knights of Malta, Independent Order of Americans, Patriotic Order of Sons of America and Knights of Pythias. He is also a member of the Lewistown Kiwanis Club and his religious affiliations are with the Presbyterian Church.
