Larry Eugene Nickell, ESCANABA - Larry Eugene Nickell, 63, of Antigo, Wis. and formerly of the Danforth area, died unexpectedly in Florida on Monday, March 25, 2002. He was born, June 20, 1938, in Rochester, Ind., the son of Paul and Meda (Everley) Nickell, and had resided in Danforth before moving to Antigo, Wis. He served with the Marine Corp from 1956 to 1962 and was a member of the American Legion Post 71 of Gladstone. Mr. Nickell had been a welder-pipefitter for 40 years.
He leaves to survive his wife, the former Jane M. Demeuse; four sons, Eugene (Annamae) Nickell of Antigo, Wis., Donald (Ellie) Nickell of Bark River, Glen (April) Nickell of Tahlequah, Okla., and Tim (Tara) Nickell of Escanaba; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a half-brother, Paul of Jacksonville, F1a., and two step-sisters, Jackie and Donna of Milwaukee, Wis.
He was preceded by his parents, Paul and Meda Nickell; and an infant, Dale Jay Nickell.
Friends may call at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba on Monday from 2 to 5:30 p.m. The American Legion will conduct a service at the funeral home on Monday at 5: 15 p. m. Funeral service for Larry E. Nickell will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish with Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Burial will be in the Bark River Cemetery.
