Willie E. Cochran, formerly of Rolla, Missouri, died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas at the age of 95.
Willie was born the son of Cleveland and Myrtle (Bunton) Cochran on Sunday, February 11, 1917 in Maries County, Missouri.
On June 11, 1946, Willie and Rosielee Hawkins were united in marriage in Lebanon, Missouri. Together they celebrated 53 years of marriage before her death in 2004. Following his wife's death, Willie relocated to Wellington, Kansas where he was able to spend 8 wonderful years with his daughter and family.
He was a member of the United States Army and served during WWII. He was proud of his membership in the Rolla, Missouri VFW. Willie was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for the University of Missouri at Rolla and a member of the Calvary Assembly of God in Rolla, Missouri.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandi Robinson and her husband Jim of Wellington, Kansas; grandsons, Paul "Brad" Robinson and his wife Tamne of Tijeras, New Mexico and Sean Eric Robinson and his wife Lenore of Kihei, Hawaii along with 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Thomas and 3 sisters, Augusta, Maude and Lena.
Visitation will be held at the Day Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2012. A separate viewing will be held at the cemetery beginning at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012. Graveside services for Willie will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Ozark Memorial Gardens in Rolla, Missouri.
