Graveside service for M. Stanley Kracke, 90, of Courtland will be today, April 28, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Courtland City Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Reding and the Rev. Mike Thomas officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be today from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Kracke, who died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Parkway Medical Center, was born Dec. 5, 1915, in Guntersville to Henry Kracke and Carrie Puryear Kracke. He served in the U.S. Navy and also served in many civic activities in Courtland which included Boy Scouts, Courtland Industrial Board and City Council. He was a rural letter carrier in the Courtland area for 40 years.

Mr. Kracke was preceded in death by one daughter, Barrie Kracke; and seven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Wade Kracke of Falkville; one son, Brooks Kracke of Decatur; two daughters, Virginia Thomason of Montgomery and Carolyn Beyer of Tuscumbia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Alan Thomason, Scott Letson, Bert Pippen and Robert Thomason.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ASERA Care Hospice, 219 East Moulton St., Decatur, AL 35601, or to your favorite charity.
