Josephine Pittman
Oct 30, 1916 - March 3, 2015 OKLAHOMA CITY Josephine Louise Albright Pittman was born in Augusta, Kansas, on October 30, 1916, to Joseph A. and Edith Albright. Her family moved to OKC when she was a young girl. Josephine was a 1935 graduate of Capitol Hill High School and a 1939 graduate of St. Anthony School of Nursing. Josephine was married to the late John I. Pittman, II and they had four children. Josephine was a registered nurse for more than forty years. She enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S.A. and to foreign countries. She was an avid reader and loved the "Real People" class at Southwest Baptist Church. She enjoyed the companionship of her two felines, Jasper and Ringo. In retirement, she also enjoyed her weekly trip to her hair stylist Virginia at S. Blackwelder Coiffures; it was her "thing." She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William A. and Robert Lee Albright; and one grandson, John I. Pittman, IV. She is survived by her four children, Judith Waddle, Jannette Queen, John I. Pittman III (Henrietta), and James Pittman (Amy); twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great- grandchildren. Her grandchildren were in her heart, thoughts, and words as she enjoyed the simple days of daily visits from family and friends these past few years. We ask our heavenly Father to accept our mother into His loving arms and grant her love and comfort she so deserves. Services at Southwest Baptist Church, 1300 S.W. 54th, OKC, Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery. Pastor Jason Gaddis will be officiating.
