George Louis Arndt, Jr, 80, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, September 12, 2005.
He was born April 4, 1926 in Wilders, IN the son of George L. and Bertha (Doms) Arndt, Sr.
George was a carpenter for Robert Schneegas for many years. Before that he worked at Continental Diamond for many years. He was a WWII Marine Veteran, a member of the Moose Lodge 1357 since 1964, the American Legion Post 94 for 45 years and the Eagles Lodge 2517 for 30 years.
On September 16, 1945 in Newport, Arkansas he married Martha Hilda Foster who survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving is a daughter Sheena (Denny) Marrell of Valparaiso; a son Rick Arndt of Billings, Montana; three grandchildren: Richard (Ada) Marrell, Dennis Marrell and Julie Marrell and three great-grandsons: John, Charles and Nicholas; four brothers: Roy (Bettie) Arndt, Robert (Bernice) Arndt and David (Virginia) Arndt, all of Valparaiso and Tom (Ruth) Arndt of Westville and a sister: Mildred O'Brien of Wanatah also survive him.
His parents and a sister, Dorothy Anders preceded him in death.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Pastor Mike Eddy officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bartholomew's.
