Martha Hilda Foster Arndt, age 83 of Valparaiso, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009.
She was born January 30, 1926 in Remmel, AR, the daughter of Oscar Alfonso Foster and Mary Anna Foster.
During her lifetime, Martha worked at Continental Diamond Factory, Valparaiso University, and also the Willows and Valeview Nursing Homes.
On September 17, 1945 in Newport, AR, she married George L. Arndt, Jr. who preceded her in death in 2005.
Surviving is a daughter, Sheena (Denny) of Valparaiso; a son, Rick Arndt of Valparaiso; three grandchildren: Richard Marrell, Julie (Justin) Kissinger of Valparaiso and Dennis Marrell, Jr. of Chicago, IL; three sisters: Genise (Walter) Sherrell of Bellvue, WA, Marguerite Sparks of Charlotte, NC and Vera Hahn of Houston, TX; four great-grandchildren: John Marrell, Charles Marrell, Nicholas Marrell and Ella Kissinger, all of Valparaiso.
Her parents and her brother, Borden Foster, preceded her in death.
Martha loved her family and enjoyed family get togethers. She was a lifetime animal lover and had a special love for her two dogs Joey and Zoey. She liked to spend her time visiting on the phone with friends and relatives, reading and working puzzles.
Services will be held at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Service and burial at Graceland Cemetery immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association , VNA Hospice or the charity of choice.
