William H Brewer served on the side of the Confederacy in the Civil War as a member of the the 25th Regiment of the Georgia Infantry

Husband of Catherine Brewer. William is the son of James and Delilah Brewer and father of Susan Brewer Hope. In 1850 cencus shows he had four daughters and one son living at home in Appling County. Also Listed he was a farmer per this census.

1860 census : William and Catherine and children : Lived in Taylor's Ridge, Liberty County Susan had left the nest and Married Little Elliott Hope leaving Laura, Sararh whom never married and had a son name Brooks M. Brewer, ?, Richard, William Hampton,James ( Jesse), Henry R. Brewer
