Funeral services for Otis Joseph Boatman were held Monday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Flat Rock Church. Rev Charles Casteel of Calico Rock and Miss Mary Chaffin of Melbourne officiated. Burial was made in Flat Rock Cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
Mr Boatman passed away at Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was born April 18, 1883 at Melbourne, Ark. He was united in marriage to Mrs Fannie Collins Boatman and had four sons and four daughters.
Survivors include his children, Mrs Emma Collins of Bakersfield, Calif., Eune Boatman, Tommie Boatman of Calico Rock, Mrs Rita Jones of Fort-Four, Mrs Iris Harrison, Mrs Martha Young and Louie Boatman of Oklahoma City and Kelly Boatman of Washington state; one brother, Tom Boatman of Bradford, Ark.; 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
At an early age he joined the Flat Rock Methodist Church where he was a loyal and influential member. He will be remembered and loved both far and near, by people in all walks of life.
