Augusta, GA---Mrs. Bessie Stathopoulos Agganis, 77, entered into rest on Monday, October 26, 2009 at National Healthcare of North Augusta.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 am October 29, 2009, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 953 Telfair Street with Father Vasile Bitere officiating. Interment followed at Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Agganis was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, a member and past President of the Philoptochos Society, past President of the Hairdressers Association of the state of Florida, past member of Hair America and was the Hair Designer for Miss USA and Miss Universe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul George Agganis and by her parents, Soterios and Demetra Vrees Stathopoulos.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Agganis Ballas and husband, Chuck of Martinez, GA, son, Harry Agganis and wife, Dee of Lynn, MA, sisters, Stella Agganis of Danvers, MA, Christine Geanacopoulos of Lynn, MA, three grandchildren, Penelope Ballas Stewart and husband, Matt, Bebe Ballas Kent and husband, Philip, Claudia Ballas Latch and husband, Wesley and five great grandchildren, Kalli, Mattie, Charlie, Paul and Deborah.

Pallbearers were Matt Stewart, Philip Kent, Jr., Wesley Latch, Andrew B. Farley, Christopher Farley, Greg Colvin, Jimmy Colvin and Michael Colvin. Honorary pallbearers were Tony Magoulas, Roy Colvin and Richard B. Justice.
