Idella B. Smothers, 93, of Union City died Oct. 11, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
She was born in Dresden Nov. 28, 1915, daughter of the late Sam and Eunia (McDaniel) Baker. She was the widow of Garry H. Smothers. She was a retired employee of the former Salant & Salant in Union City, where she worked for 23 years, and was a member of Northwestern Baptist Church.
