Funeral services were held for Hamp Pitt (H.P.) Faith on Sunday, May 20, at First Baptist Church of Chico, where he was a member. The Rev. Joe Motsenbocker and Pastor H. C. Reed officiated. Burial was at Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery.
Mr. Faith was born in Decatur on January 18, 1904. He attended West Academy School in the Chico community. He was married to Emmie Estelle Denney on November 25, 1923, in Wise County. He was a dairyman and a school bus driver for the Chico schools.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emmie Estelle; his parents, Joseph Thomas and Ora Pearlie Faith; four brothers, Elmer J. Faith, Hubert L. Faith, Harvey Faith, Loyd Faith; and by two sisters, Brittie Faith and Susie Faith.
He is survived by two daughters, Ora Juanita Rash of Pampa and Ora Louise Hartsell of Chico; a brother, Oscar D. Faith of Decatur; a sister, Ruby King of Decatur; and nine grandchildren; Danny P. Hartsell, Jane Cayce, Lynn Hartsell, Beverly Duck, Tim Hartsell, Wayland Hartsell, Deanna Wilson, Debbie Hand, and Celina Howerton; 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were C. D. Phillips, H. P. Denney, Ed Gann, Jesse Wilkins, Travis Manning and Everett Cox. Honorary pallbearers were R. D. Harless and Patrick Johnson.
