MOULTRIE — Alberta Irene Chance Elrod, 88, of Moultrie, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Magnolia Manor South.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Midway Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Jackson officiating.
Interment will follow in Midway Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Lamar Giles, Jerry Giles, Melvin Sloan, Roscoe Gay, Darrell Gay, Steve Sorrells, Wayne Lacey and Art Harvin.
Born Aug. 2, 1921, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late John Mack Chance and Mary Myrtle Sloan Chance.
She was a homemaker and a member of Midway Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Elrod; her grandson, Lee Elrod; and the father of her children, Odis Elrod.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., today, Oct. 27, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
The family may be contacted at the home of Larue and Jack Calhoun, 280 Lower Meigs Road in Moultrie.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midway Freewill Baptist Church.
