Henry Clay Fuson was the son of William Sneed Fuson. He was a veteran of the Civil War. He was from Havana, Illinois and enlisted on February 14, 1862 as a private in Company E, Illinois 53rd Infantry Regiment. He mustered out on 21 Nov 1862. He married Zillah Mariah Atwater May 7, 1868 in Woodland Township, Fulton County, Illinois. She died January 3, 1919 in Spokane, Washington. He then married Mary Fuson.
