Nellie A. Halderman

WOODBURN - Mrs. Nellie A. Halderman, 87, formerly of 529 N. Settlemier Ave., died Sunday in a Woodburn nursing home following a long illness.

Born at Rocky Point, she came to Woodburn from Florence in 1951. Her husband William died in 1947.

She leaves a son Walter Meyers, Salem, daughter Ethel Dorocke of Portland, brother Charles Grant of Scappoose and one grandson,

Arrangements are pending at Cornwell mortuary.

ELOPEMENT IN BUD - The police received a telegram last night that Nellie Grant and Joseph Meyers, of Scappoose, are missing from that place and are supposed to have started for this city. Nellie is 15 years old, she is 5 feet 2 inches tall, and she has light hair and gray eyes. Meyers is 21 years old; he has dark hair, and is smooth shaven. The police have information that the pair have eloped.
