He was first born son of Carolyn Belle Clark and Stephen Purcell. His fathers family migrated for Counties Limerick and Kilkenny, Ireland and later moved to Minneapolis, MN. On September 18, 1895 he married Mary (Polly) Evans whose parents were Howell and Glattice Rhys(Gladys Reece) Evans.
Mr. Purcell came to Marshall, MO and was instrumental in the installation of Bell Telephone in Miami, Malta Bend, and Marshall communities in the 1900's. He was Plant Manager of Bell Telephone. He worked there for 25 years and later worked at Rea's Garage.. In the 1930's he worked for R.E.A.(Rural Electric Association until a month before his death in 1940. One child is not listed on Childrens list Edward H Purcell Find A Grave Memorial # 16302408 whom is buried in Pittsburg County Oklahoma at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
