Son of George Conrad Getz and Susanna Schmidt Getz. He married Anna Meckes (daughter of John Meckes and Charlotte Frantz) 3 Apr 1836.

They were blessed with six children:
1. Paul Getz b. 1837
2. Mary Ann Getz b. 1841
3. Daniel Getz Jr., b. 1846
4. Anna Getz b. 1849
5. Sarah Ann Getz b. 1852
6. Elizabeth Getz b. abt 1857

NOTE:The names of the parents of Daniel Getz were obtained from Northampton County
orphans court records of the estate of Conrad Getz in 1819. He is buried in
Jerusalem Church cemetery.
