A member of the Clarks River Baptist Church of Symsonia, Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Ruby, and two daughters, Mrs. Patsy Sue Morris of Mayfield, and Mrs. Jackqueline Rule, Rt. 5, Mayfield.
Four sons survive, including Donald Lee Smith of Chicago, Ill., Delmer E. Smith of Symsonia, Alonzo Joe Smith of Hickory, Rt. 2, and Maclin Smith of Hickory.
Sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Smith's funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Clarks River Baptist Church in Symsonia, with the Rev. Leaman Blalock and the Rev. George Fournier officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarks River Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Sunday to lie in state until the funeral hour.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers, while grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, after 6 o'clock this evening.
