George "Tim" Akins, beloved husband of Cindy Tinnes Akins, died at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL on Sunday, June 10.

A former US Marine, he is survived by his daughters Jessica (Sean) Hussey, Mandy Akins, Trisha Tinnes and future son in law Eric Engle as well as many extended family members and friends.

Tim will be remembered by loved ones as a sincere, caring and loving husband, father, uncle, brother and friend. His boisterous but humble nature, quirky personality and eclectic tastes charmed and instilled a spirit of adventure in those around him. He was a proud American and served his country well. He was a personal hero to many, and a decent bowler to others. May his memory be eternal.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2007, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Williams-Woodward Funeral Home, 820 Pine Street, West Chicago, IL. A memorial service will take place at 7:30 p.m. in lieu of flowers please send your donations to: Paralyzed Vets of America at www.pva.org or the Glenwood School for boys and girls at www.glenwoodschool.org
