AGED HUSBAND AND TEN CHILDREN SURVIVE PIONEER POLK COUNTY WOMAN
Burial services for the late Mrs. T. W. Anderson were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist church, of which faith decedent had been a faithful member. The services were in charge of the Rev. Karl McClendon. Interment was at Odd Fellows cemetery, Mrs. Anderson passed away Monday afternoon at the family home in Mena after a vain effort had been made to prolong her life through an operation at Meagher hospital at Texarkana. Realizing that the fight against death was hopeless, Mrs. Anderson was brought back home for the end, returning to Mena Saturday afternoon.

She was married February 20, 1870, to T. W. Anderson, and of the eleven children born to them, ten are still living, and all but one were able to attend the pioner mother's burial. Besides the aged husband and the ten children, there are surviving 43 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The children who attended the mother's burial were Sid Anderson of Heavener, Charles Anderson of Hatfield, Mrs Malinda Nelson of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Mary Whitehead of Marietta, Bedford Anderson of Shawnee, Okla., Mrs Bertha Beavers, Mrs Marvin Richardson and Wallace Anderson, all of Mena; Houston Anderson of Burneyville, Okla. Will Anderson, who lived in Texas, was not reached in time to get to Mena.
