She was the daughter of William C. Cameron and Elizabeth "Mary" Jane Busby. She married John Osborn Crauswell on 24 December 1901 in Pocahontas, Walker County, Alabama.

Ella's obituary appeared in "The Birmingham News [Alabama]" in the July 25, 1976 Metro Section, Page 2-B.
