Services for Donis Holloway Rice, of Wesson, are 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on North Jackson Street with burial in the Wesson City Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rice, 88, died Aug. 4, 2007, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 13, 1918, to Joseph Holloway and Annie Fauver Holloway.
She was a retired inspector for the Potter Co. and manager of Wesson's Nutrition Center. She was a lifetime resident of Wesson and a member of the Lions Club, American Legion and an active member of various church groups, such as the Women's Missionary Union. She was a member of Wesson Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John Rice; her sons, Johnny and Joe Rice; and a daughter, Sue Rice Hudson.
Survivors are her daughters and their spouses, Sharon and J.J. Inman, and Janet and Chuck Kelley, all of Wesson; her sisters, Audrey Alexander, of West Lincoln; Elsie Matthews, of Boulder, Colo., and Lorraine Jones, of Virginia; her grandchildren, Lydia Kelley, of Wesson, Chuck Williams, of Wesson, Brian Inman, in Iraq, Tim Rice, of Florida, Mitchell Rice, of Florida, Taylor Rice, of Florida, Ronald Rice, of Wesson, Michael Rice, of Brandon, Jennifer Gray, of Virginia, Brenda Lacharite, of Fort Worth, Texas, Scott Hudson, of Jackson, Andy Hudson, of Florida, Laurie Bunch, of Flowood, and Cathy McCoskey, of Monticello; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
