James W. Mars, 86, of 200 State Ave., Palmer, formerly of Worcester, died Friday in the Monson Developmental Center, Monson.
He leaves no immediate relatives. He was born in Worcester, son of James T. and Jennie E. (Ruggles) Mars.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Waylon Lee will officiate.

Monson Developmental Center is a historic site at 200 State Avenue in Monson, Massachusetts.
It was built in 1854 and added to the National Historic Register in 1994.
